Bradford Primary School was built in 1874 of local stone and slate. The main school is still housed in this building, now double-glazed and efficiently heated. Adjacent to the school was the old school house, once the residence of the headteacher, which is now used as a planning and preparation office, a resource room and staff room.
We have 2 classes which are bright and spacious and that offer our children space in which to work.
We are lucky enough to have two play areas which are hard surfaces – one for ball games and another for general play. There are outbuildings for storage and a large playing field. The school is generously equipped with outside space including a pond and environmental area with garden. The school hall accommodates a dining centre from which meals are served.
Bradford Primary School has a long established role in the community. We have close links with our local church group, the BBC, who visit us fortnightly to share assemblies with us. We welcome the community into our school and think it important that we remain at the heart of the community. We are lucky enough to have easy access to our village hall which we use for sports and events.
We all work hard together and that really is the ethos at Bradford Primary. We want our children to understand their role in modern Britain and support them to become lifelong learners. This means our values of caring, respect, achievement, friendship and trust are more than just words. They are what we work together on every day so that being part of Bradford Primary is about being a part of a big family in which you are supported, cared for, understood and for whom we have extremely high aspirations.
The school takes the views of parents and carers very seriously and we are always happy to listen to suggestions. The staff work hard to ensure that it is felt that there is an open door policy with parents so that concerns are discussed early and resolutions sought as soon as possible. There is regular contact with other Primary Schools in the area and the Community College.
